After many years employed in sales positions I decided it was time to follow my dream. I had been doing furniture and carpentry and remodeling for many years as a pleasurable pastime. Now I do it as a full-time endeavor. James Woodworking and Home Remodeling is a new business. We specialize in customized furniture and challenging remodeling projects. We are bonded, licensed, and insured in the state of Oregon.
Our favorite woods are cherry, oak, walnut, and birds-eye maple. [If you have never seen birds-eye maple look here for an example.] We build dove-tail and mortise tendon joined furniture. We finish our works typically with 2 or 3 and sometimes 4 applications of tung oil to bring out the natural beauty of the wood grain.
